Having a scientifically validated instrument, employing a specific protocol, is what I need to have reliable data concerning my patients response to colour. In addition, I need to feel confident that I am able to test for not only subtle gradations of hue, but also saturation and attenuation; only the Colorimeter does this for me. Unless these parameters of testing are available, I can’t imagine using other methods; I may miss something that my patient critically needs.
